My Story

Picture
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from UAB and a Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama in 1999. I began my career in the field of foster care and adoption at the King’s Home and later at the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home helping families care for children from hard places. During my career, I have served as a therapist in a variety of settings including residential treatment for adolescents, day treatment for veterans experiencing mental health crises, non-profit counseling ministry, and private practice.

I offer professional counseling for couples and individuals experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relational conflict, and infidelity. I have a level II certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) and am working towards a certification in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, the APA gold standard for couples therapy.  I have a passion for helping couples break their repeating patterns of conflict and learn how to reconnect in a secure bond that provides a safe haven from the storms of life.

In my free time, I enjoy looking for beauty in my everyday life through spending time with my family, walking my dog, reading, traveling, and fostering my creative side through painting, sewing, and decorating.
